FEBRUARY 18, 2001 LIVING. TIMES HERALD, PORT HURON, MICHIGAN 5D NAMES IN THE NEWS Marine Corps Pfc. Matthew D. Zeller of Jeddo has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. A graduate of Croswell-Lexington High School, he is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. B.M. Zeller. Students named to the Albion College dean's list include Steven Celmer, Port Huron; Regan K. Lachapelle, Sarah M.

Ladensack, Ryan P. Lane, Jessica R. Mosier, Katharine A. Murphy, Thomas J. Wood, Fort Gratiot; Charles W.

Mary Coulter of Port Huron and Gary Saldana of Hanalei, Hawaii. Her grandparents are Nancy Coulter of Port Huron and Bob and Judy Coulter of Dearborn. Munce, North Street; Sarah Priebe, St. Clair. Hailey Coulter Hailey Coulter of Port Huron has been chosen to sing a solo at the St.

Patrick's Day Parade on March 17. A junior at Port Huron High School, Ms. Coulter is active in the woman's ensemble and concert choir. She attended musical theatre summer group at Eastern Michigan University in 2000 and will audition for summer camp for singers this year. She is the daughter of Matthew T.

Schumacher Matthew T. Schumacher formerly of Avoca, graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan-Flint with a bachelor's degree in music, majoring in violin and trumpet. A graduate of Yale High School and St. Clair County Community College, Mr. Schumacher attended East Shore Honors Band, MSBOA Honors Band and Interlochen Fine Arts Camp.

He is the son of Tom and Margie Schumacher of Avoca and grandson of the late Wilfred and Lucille Schumacher of Ruth and Joseph and Helen Ronan of Port Huron. Dylan Moran of Port Huron has been named to the dean's list at Michigan Technological University. A graduate of Port Huron High School, he is the son of Paul and Dawn Moran. Kaitlyn Sawa of Goodells and Bridgette Bennett of Port Huron are members of the Alma College Choir, which recently began a tour of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Florida. The choir sings sacred and secular pieces in churches.

Ms. Sawa, who is a graduate of Memphis High School, is the daughter of Brian and Norma Sawa. Ms. Bennett, who graduated from Port Huron Northern High School, is the daughter of Joseph and Teresa Bennett. Jason Arlow Jason Arlow graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a bachelor's degree in science in architecture.

Mr. Arlow is employed at Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick, Shelby Township. He is the son of James and Helen Arlow of Marine City and grandson of Robert and Helen Beauvais and Thelma Arlow. SM. Whiting of Marysville participated in the Term-in-Europe program at Northwood University. Ms. Whiting and other academically advanced students spent 10 weeks in many European countries where they saw industrial, economic and cultural conditions and the art history of Europe. Ms.

Whiting is the daughter of Terry and Beth Whiting. Amanda Burrell Amanda Burrell of Port Huron is the first-place winner at Central Middle School in the 32nd annual America Me Essay Contest. Amanda's name will be engraved on a plaque for display in the school and her essay advances to the state level competition, from which the top 10 essays in Michigan will be selected. Burrell of Port Huron and granddaughter of Leona (Reeves) Tennant of Ferndale and Harry and Liz Burrell of Port Huron. Karen M. Grinder Karen M. Grinder of Port Huron graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Ms.

Grinder was president of the nursing class and vice president of the senior class. A graduate of Port Huron Northern High School, she is employed in the intensive care unit at Indianapolis St. Vincent Hospital. She is the daughter of Larry and Judy Grinder of Port Huron and granddaughter of Don and Hannah Grinder of Apollo, and Eldon and Joyce Spring of Anna Maria Island, Fla. Heather Gardner Heather Lynn Gardner graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

A graduate of Port Huron Northern High School, Ms. Gardner was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She is the daughter of John and Fran Gardner of Port Huron and granddaughter of Ruth Gardner and the late John L. Gardner. Andrea H.

Baker Andrea H. Baker graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in special education-mentally impaired. While at Eastern, Ms. Baker was secretary of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, a member of Golden Key National Honor Society and was on the dean's list. A graduate of Port Huron Northern High School and St.

Clair County Community College, she plans to study for a master's degree in the fall. Ms. Baker is the daughter of Steven and Lana Baker of Port Huron and granddaughter of Robert and Barbara Baker of Fort Myers, John Langolf of Port Huron and the late Joan Langolf.
