Jacobs The Associated Press Herbert E. Jacobs PORT HURON Herbert E. Jacobs, 70, of Port Huron has completed his walk in life. He died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Mercy Hospital.

He was born April 22, 1930, in Port Huron, the son of the late David and Annie Jacobs, and was a lifelong resident. He married Bessie Churchill on July 3, 1956, in Angola, Ind. He was a longtime employee of Star Oil. He served in the U.S. Army as a military police sergeant during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church; a member of the Chippewas of Sarnia, First Nation; and a member of Charles Schoor VFW Post He was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife, Bessie of Port Huron; his daughter and son-in-law, Anna J. and George Garrett of Port Huron; his sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert George and Gerri Jacobs of Port Huron and Joseph H. and Sally Jacobs of Port Huron; nine grandchildren, Bethany and Jacob Garrett, Nicole and Kaitilyn Hawkins, Tara Jacobs, Tiffany, Lacey, Stacey and Hayley Jo Jacobs; his sister, Helen Schmidt of Sarnia; his brother, Ernest A. Jacobs of Port Huron; his sister, Betty Dobrowolski of Sarnia; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Loran and Betty Jacobs of Port Huron and Joseph G.

and Marie Jacobs of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald D. Jacobs and Harlie L. Jacobs, and a sister, Loretta A. Brittian.

Paeth, 68, of Port Huron passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, after a long illness. He was born May 6, 1932, in Port Huron to Harold and Dorothea Paeth and married Gloria Matthews on Jan. 3, 1955. She passed away Sept.

12, 1999. Robert was a graduate of Marysville High School and worked for Prestolite for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Court Street Baptist Church, was a crossing guard at the Roosevelt School and played softball for many years. He is survived by his six children, Robert (Teresa) Paeth Jr. of Port Huron, Steven (Cindy) Paeth of Jeddo, David (Jean) Paeth of Richmond, Tracy (Larry Wolfe) Paeth of Kimball Township, Julie Paeth of Port Huron and Tammy (Scott Squires) Paeth of Port Huron; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Paeth of Port Huron; his sister, Kathy (Mark) Neil of Port Huron; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Paeth. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Court Street Baptist Church. The Rev.

Harry Holcomb, pastor of Court Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St.

Frederick Senyk PORT HURON Frederick "Pops" Senyk, 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Aug.

10, 2000, in St. John's Hospital, Detroit. He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Port Huron and graduated from St. Stephen's High School in 1949.

He served in the United States Army and participated the testing of the atomic bomb in Nevada in 1953. He married Justine Nofs in October 1955 at St. Edward's, and would have celebrated 1 45 years together this fall. He was employed with Shedd's after the service until 1958, and worked for Cadillac Overall Supply Co. until 1970, when he began working for Detroit Edison until his retirement in Aug.

He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Marysville. He married Cheril (Schwark) Bigger on May 18, 1989, in Las Vegas. Mr. Rice was a U.S.

Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was awarded two purple hearts, the Korean service medal with one silver star and the United Nations service medal. He was a member of VFW Post American Legion Post 8, Voiture 120 DAV Chapter 12, the Retired Enlisted Association and Moose Lodge Jack was an avid bowler for 25 years and rolled a 300 game three years ago. He is survived by his wife; two stepsons, Robert Bigger of Pasadena, and Richard Bigger of Mount Clemens; four stepdaughters, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Stella) Williams of Sandusky, Jackie Prigmore Pasadena, Mr.

and Mrs. Michael (Susan) Thompson of Wayne and Wendy Bigger of Midland; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Donna) Rice of Burtchville; a sister, Mr. and Mrs.

Ken (Noreen) Ingerson of Virginia Beach, nine step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, in Marysville Funeral Home. The Rev.

11, 2000, at Port Huron Hospital. "He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Memphis, the son of the former Peter and Alexandra Borowski Swider. His marriage to Genevieve Zajac was Sept. 17, 1954, in Emmett.

Frank served his country with the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in Korea from 1950-1952. He was employed at Rome Rim as a mechanic for 17 years until his retirement in 1990. He liked fishing and working with mechanical equipment. Surviving in addition to his wife of 45 years, Geneviece, are two sons, Robert and Frank of Mussey Township; three daughters and a son-in-law, Diane and Richard Charles of Clinton Township, Rita Swider, and Angela Swider of Troy; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christine in 1969; three sisters, Jenny, Helen and Sabina; and a brother, Edward. A Mass of Christian Burial in appreciation of the life, family and friends of Frank will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett, with burial in the church cemetery. Fr. Jasper Sirianni, pastor, will officiate.

Pat was born April 19, 1939, in Bay City. She married Vallie Baumgarten on Oct. 5, 1957. After the passing of her husband of 33 years, Vallie, she married Oscar Hazlip on Oct. 29, 1997.

She is survived by her husband Oscar Hazlip; sons, Virgil Baumgarten, Marvin Baumgarten and the Rev. Bill Baumgarten; daughter, Kayleen Haun; 14 grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Bill Ryan; one sister, Kathleen Dupee; great aunt, Pearl Dupee; and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Goldie, and her first husband, Vallie.
