18, 1913 i in Kinde to Michael and Elizabeth Mayer and was a lifelong area resident. He married Lillian Lacey, on March 6, 1937. She was promoted to Glory March 1952. He married Lydia E. Marshall Pagen July 9, 1954 in Port Huron.

Mr. Mayer was employed by Prestolite Wire Company for 42 years prior to his retirement in Feb. 1977. He loved to care for his garden, yard and home as well as caring to his neighbors needs. He dedicated his life to love and care for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; four daughters, Rev. Dr. Gary and Dr. Lillian Jamison of Croswell, Mr. and Mrs.

Donald (Betty Jean) McCormick of Port Huron, Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Mildred Pagen) Clifton of Walkerton, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Ruth Pagen) Ploeger of Independence, one son, Michael Mayer Ill of Port Huron; one daughter-in-law, Carol Hanson of Chicago, seven grandsons, Mr.

and Mrs. Howard (Kim) Clifton, Michael Clifton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Michelle) Jamison, Mr. and Mrs.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. today in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Elders Ronald Giles and Russell Loeding officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Isabell, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 1995 in her home. She was born June 30, 1916 in Port Huron and lived in the city most of her life. She married Robert C. Isabell who died Feb.

13, 1986. She was a 1935 graduate of Port Huron High School and was employed for more than 20 years at Port Huron Junior College and S.C.C.C.C. as the Veteran's Liason Officer. She also was a member of St. Mary Church and life member of the League of Catholic Women.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Mark) Kovach of Silver Springs, MD; two grandchildren, Jesse se and Jamie Kovach of Silver Springs, MD; brother, Robert Lohrstorfer of Anaheim, CA; and a sister, Maureen Forshar of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by a son, James F. Isabell on March 23, 1969. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Church Of St.

Mary. The Rev. Stanley Wyczawski will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visiting will be 2 to 4 p.m.

and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. A League of Catholic Women's rosary will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Walter Erwin LeBar MARINE CITY Walter Erwin LeBar, 78 passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 1995 in River District Hospital. Mr. Lebar was born March 28, 1917 in Leroy, Ohio. The son of the late Charles and Alice LeBar.

He lived in Michigan since 1920. He married Elsie Grass March 27, 1948, in Romeo. Mr. LeBar worked at National Twist Drill in Rochester, for years. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Elsie; son, Charles (Judy) LeBar of Marine City, daughters, Mary (Julian) Joiner of St.

Clair, Elaine (Walter) Christy of Florida; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by the John N. Olszewski Funeral Hensch Chapel, Richmond.

Sister Ann Frances Bodley, IHM 21, 1995 at St. Mary Health Care Center in Monore. She was born May 11, 1905 in Port Huron to Robert Frances and Minnie (Holland) Bodley, the former Leota M. Bodley entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Monroe on June 20, 1925. She earned a bachelor's degree from Marygrove College and a masters degree from Wayne State University.

She taught 45 years in schools both in Ohio and Michigan. During those years she primarily taught Chemistry, Physics, Drafting and Religion. She also did parish ministry to the sick and elderly in Flint. She retired to the Monroe Motherhouse in 1974 where she continued visitations to the sick in the infirmary. According to Sister Maura and fellow sisters she was known for her contagious sense of humor and her ability to instill in young people a zest for life.

She is survived by nieces, Bridget Parker, Shirley A. Gamble of Port Huron, Susan Phillips of St. Clair; nephews, William J. Bodley of Detroit, Robert F. Bodley, Richard R.

Bodley of Port Huron, Dr. Michael Bodley of Grand Rapids. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel in Monroe. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Monroe.

The soldiers liked them. They said they made them happy.

That was our job." Ms. Andrews was recognized for her service in 1987 with the Pentagon's highest civilian honor, the Medal for Distinguished Public Service. At the height of their popularity in the 1940s, the Andrews Sisters appeared in 16 films, including Buck Privates and In the Navy, with Abbot Costello, Hollywood Canteen, with a host of stars, and Road to Rio, with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. They also had their own radio show, Eight-to-the-Bar Ranch. Born in Minneapolis, Maxene Andrews went on the road with her sisters in the early 1930s.

They scored their first hit, Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen, in 1937. When Laverne died and the group broke up, Maxene Andrews went on to teach speech and drama. She retook the stage with sister Patty in 1974, starring in Over Here on Broadway. She underwent quadruple bypass surgery in 1982, then went on to release her only solo album in 1990. Her memoir of World War I1, Over Here, Over There, was published in 1993.

Her last performance was in the off-Broadway show Siring Time Canteen.
