mem or Ti. mem or a Marlette Observes 90th Birthday Marlette, Dec. 27 John Gerber will celebrate his 90th birthday Sunday in his home here with two daughters. Miss Ella Gerber and Miss Clara Gerber. Mr, Gerber came to this country from Larsgenthal, Switzerland, where he was born.

His pi rents first settled in Detroit, later moving to a farm west of River Rouge. He recalls that at the time of the Chirazo fire smoke was thick over Detroit We could not the sun for a whole he said. He came to Marlette in 1874. With his brother, Fred Gerber. established a threshing business Hhey started with a horse-powered machine which they later replaced with a steam oufit, the first of its kind east of Imlay City.
