They visited the Toronto fair. Miss Elsie Crockard, of Smiths Creek, is visiting friends at South Park for a few days. Mrs. Erwin Reisig. of Poplar street, has returned from a visit with relatives and friends at Burns, Mich.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Rochon, of Sixth street, are taking a two weeks trip to Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Toron-tor, and other cities in Canada. Mrs. S.

S. Houston, who has been spending a week in Pontiac and Dearborn visiting relatives, has returned to her home on Gratiot avenue. She was accompanied by her son, Robert, who has been spending the summer at Dearborn. Miss Goltz, of Chicago, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Holstein, of Griswold street.

Mrs. W. B. Kelley has returned to her home in Tawas City after visiting at the residence of Rev. and Mrs.

Dr. Alex Begg, of Des Moines, Iowa arrived in the city on Tuesday to visit intimate friends before going to Boston where he has been appointed instructor of anatomy of Harvard college for the coming year. The bridal theme of green and white was. observed in the decoration of the Benedict home for the nuptial. The bridal table was particularly artistic in these colors with an immense cluster of white asters anil fern arranged in a crystal bowl forming a beautiful decoration. A stuffed tomato salad that is a novelty is made in this way: Scoop out the centres of even, firm and not very large, ripe tomatoes. Leave the top cut off for a cover. Dice the firm pulp, removing some of seeds and mix it with chopped olives and mayonnaise dressing.

Put a table-spoonful of the mixture in each tomato and replace the covers. A. was held at the home of the president, Mrs. Wadsworth, Tuesday afternoon. Plans were made for a most entertaining series of meetings to be held during the coming year. Guessing games and music furnished the entertainment yesterday and a pleasant afternoon was spent by the members in attendance.

George Ford, of Oak street, was tendered a pleasant surprise, Monday evening, when eighteen of her friends gathered at her home.
