After he returned to Port Huron. resumed work with the River side Printing company, which he served many years as secretary. He resigned from the company in 1836 to become resident agent for the Mill Mutuals Insurance company, Lansing, which position he held at the time of his death. Since his return to Port Huron in 1919, he has been active in Legion affairs.

He was a charter member of Charles A. Hammond post No. 8. American Legion, and was past oommader and past adjutant or tfte post. In 1834.

he was elected department commander at the annual convention in Traverse City and served until 1935. He was chairman of the audit-finance committee of the department sev eral years and was a member of the department Poppy commit te and its Otter Lake Billet committee. At the time of his death he was alternate national committee man and chairman of the depart ment time and place committee of the department He was a member of First Methodist Episcopal church about 20 years, many of which he served on the church official board. He was elected secretary treasurer of the first lay conference of the Detroit area of the Methodist Eiscopal church when it was organized in 1932 and has served continuously on the conference. He was recently re-elected June 25.

He was active in business affairs of this community. For several years he was a member of the Merchants division of the Chamber of Commerce and served the group as its president in 1929-30. He was an active member of the Kiwanis club of Port Huron. He was secretary of the club many years and held several important committee chairmanships. He is survived by his widow.

Mrs. Ethel M. Moody, to whom he was married in 1920; a brother, Meredith W. Moody, an uncle, i George Kiehle. and a cousin, Miss Alice Kiehle, all of Waukegan, 111 and an uncle and several cousins in the West The remains are in the family residence, where funeral services will be held at 2 m.

Wednesday. Dr. Howard A. Field, pastor of First Methodist Episcopal church, and Rev. Clarence M.

Burkholder, pastor of First Congregational church, St. Clair, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside ceme tery. A firing squad of the Charles A. Hammond post will fire a volley over the grave and a Legion bugler will sound taps.

70, resident of Port Huron 17 years, died this morning in her home, 1530 Howard street after an illness of two weeks. She is survived by a daughter Miss Alta M. Lloyd, Port Huron two brothers, William J. and E. R.

Johnson, both of Mt. Pleasant, and a sister, Mrs. E. Cheadle, Lake, Mich. Mrs.

Lloyd, who was born In Canada in 1868, lived in Mt Pleas ant many years before coming to Port Huron. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant chapter, No. 55, O. E.

and First Methodist Episcopal church of Mt. Pleasant The remains are in the Falk fu neral residence, where they will remain until Tuesday morning when they will be taken to Mt. Pleasant where funeral and burial services will be held. Ellen M. Burt Mrs.

Ellen M. Burt 77, resident of Goodeils and vicinity 70 years, died Sunday morning in her home, 13070 West Lapeer avenue. She was born April 21, 18fl7, in Watford. and married Charles Burt Sept 24. 1885.

She was a member of Goodeils Baptist church. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 ra. Tuesday in Goodeils Bap tist church. Rev. Asa Hoskins.

The sheriffs deputies made three trip to Detroit four to Jackson, three to Pontiac, one to Adrian one to Bay City, one to Highland Park, one to Saginaw, one to Hamtramck and one to Novi.
